If you have been in the market for a gun safe for some time, you have no doubt heard of the American Security Gun Safe company. Better known as AMSEC, this company is known to produce the highest quality models out there, and many people are using them to protect their homes. They are the biggest gun safe company on the planet, and one of the reasons is that all their models are put through an intense twenty eight point inspection prior to hitting the market. Their two most popular series are the HS (High Security) and the BF (Burglary and Fire).
HS
These safes are among the strongest anywhere. The HS series actually includes three different models. While a number of the specifications are different, many of them are the same.
It is nearly impossible for a thief to drill through them because of the incredibly strong steel, as well as the hard plate these models are enclosed with. All three models come with 2 and 34 inch steel doors. Also, these safes are among the most fire resistant in the industry. They are all able to last for one 120 minutes in an 1850 degree fire. BF
This series is also extremely popular. These models are notorious for all using drylight insulation, and therefore the typical gypsum board is not needed. The body is made with two thick layers of steel, which simply makes it harder for thieves to break into it. Most of these models come with a 12 inch thick steel door, which is much narrower than the HS series. However, the walls are 2 inches thick, which is quite good when compared with others in its price range.
The reality is, which of these two series you decide on really depends on your budget. Obviously the HS series is more secure. However, for most people, the BF series is more than good enough. All in all, the American Security Safe Company is one you should consider for your next purchase, whether you simply need a fire proof cash box or something to store your guns.
