Message Card Ideas – A Personal Touch

There are occasions when you will be ordering flowers and not be able to find the right words for your message card. This is especially the case with love or funerals. As a courtesy, I would search the web, print off several quotations, and had those near the order area for times of need. An indexed binder or folder would be ideal so that you can list several occasions. It was a useful reference when customers called in their order as well. It turned into a weekend project for me, but was much appreciated when someone was struggling with their message. This “extra” personal service is just the kind of thing your customers will remember. Big Sky Stars & Moons Fire Pit is light enough for one person to carry but heavy enough to be stable. Everything fits together nicely, especially if you take your time with the ring. Very easy to assemble, take maybe 10 min. to put the whole thing together, and the price was right on. Size is great, 12.5″ depth is awesome and needed if you like to BBQ. I also like the fire poker that came with it. This firepit had the two features I was looking for – depth (the deep bowl is perfect for really loading up the wood) and a cooking grate. Very sturdy, large, heavy duty, nice base powder-coated finish/color, and secured… can add a lot of wood at one time to create a big fire. (more…)

Say and Send

Divide students into pairs and give each pair a ball. Appoint one student in the class to call out a short vowel. Have students toss the ball to their partners. Before the ball is thrown, students must say a word containing the short vowel sound. Each time a correct word is called and the ball is thrown, students must take a giant step backward. Play continues until students are too far apart to toss the ball.

Scavenger Hunt

Conduct a scavenger hunt in your classroom. Give students post-it notes and encourage them to find all the short “i” words in the room. Have them write an “i” on the post-it note and stick it on the object. Repeat for the other short vowels. (more…)
